Screening "Peaceable Kingdom" followed by Meet & Greet

Join us for a screening of the documentary PEACEABLE KINGDOM at the September South Carolina C.A.R.E. Meeting.

The screening will take place at the Main Branch of the Charleston County Public Library, Downtown Charleston.  We have reserved a meeting space in the Auditorium, so ask for us when you arrive.  I will also email my cell phone number to all who RSVP.

About Peaceable Kingdom

A riveting story of transformation and healing, PEACEABLE KINGDOM: THE JOURNEY HOME explores the awakening conscience of several people who grew up in traditional farming culture and who have now come to question the basic assumptions of their way of life.

Presented through a woven tapestry of memories, music, and breathtaking accounts of life-altering moments, the film provides insight into the farmers' sometimes amazing connections with the animals under their care, while also making clear the complex web of social, psychological and economic forces that have led them to their present dilemma

Director: Jenny Stein
Producer: James LaVeck
Associate Producers: Eric Huang, Kevin Smith
Musical Score: Kevin Bartlett, Joy Askew

Can I suggest a *possible* outing? Myrtle Beach has the ONLY Ethiopian restaurant in the state of SC. For those who are super-strict, it might not be cool... but I LOVE Ethiopian cuisine. Great Veggie options. Yeah it's 2 hours away...but I've sat in Chas. traffic on rainy days almost that long haha.

Very intense documentary but well-done, presented a human side to factory farms.
