Craft and Be Merry - Wine Tasting and Open Craft

It's that time again! I know there are times when we feel like we just don't have the time to start on a new project or even finish an existing one.  These Open Crafts are a great way to carve out a little time to dedicate to a craft project.  It's a fun time to just get together and socialize while working on a project.  And adding a wine tasting to the mix, which they will do if we have 15+ attendees doesn't hurt either (although you don't have to drink if you don't want to).

Total Wine has been nice enough to let us use their wine tastings/events room for our get-togethers. It's a really great space with more than enough room for us to comfortably work.  Please try to purchase something while you're there as a "thank you" for them being so awesome and letting us use their space free of charge.

These will be the last Sunday of every other month.  So if you can't join us for this one, just come to the next one!

It was nice seeing everyone! Sorry I had to leave early but I had fun and I look forward to seeing you all again. And yes Rosemary, you definitely need to bring your button machine again :)

I had so much fun!! Rosemary- thanks for the button machine! It was such a big hit! And it was so much fun paper punching with everyone! We definitely need to have another paper crafting meetup!

I'm right in the middle of (another) move, so all my craft stuff is packed. I was going to come anyway just to meet everyone and drink some wine, but since a person who actually crafts is on the waiting list I'll open up my spot and hopefully catch the next one! Have fun, ladies!

I'm so glad to see that the Open Craft is full! We have a lot of newbies and I look forward to meeting everyone. Please remember, especially since we're at capacity and a waiting list has kicked in, to change your RSVP if you no longer can attend. See you all tomorrow!

I would be happy to bring a bunch of paper-punches and scrap paper to share with everyone. If you want to bring your own paper and punches we can have a little punch party and you can go home with new punch-outs for your papercrafts!

I will also bring some freezer paper so we can punch out designs for freezer paper stencils! If you have punches or scrap paper of your own and are willing to bring them for others to use, please do! It's really fun to get some punch-outs from others who have different punches.

I just wanted to let you know that I'll be bringing a 1" button machine and parts.

If you want to make pins, magnets or interchangeable magnetic jewelry (http://tinyurl.com/mm29m3w -- I have regular pendants as well as bottle cap pendants) bring the following:

    - Scrapbook Paper (if you want patterned designs)
    I'll bring blank white paper.
    - 1.25" printed designs
    - Markers, Colored Pencils, Sharpies or other drawing tool of choice
    - Your spare EXACT change (I need to reimburse my school print shop for the cost of the parts. Pins are $0.10, Magnets $0.20, Ribbon Necklace $0.25, Pendant $0.75, Ring $0.75 and jewlery inserts are $0.10)

My machine can't make fabric buttons or buttons out of photo paper or cardstock. If you want a photo button, print your photo on regular computer paper. Also, no glitter or textured designs. Basically, it can't do anything that is thicker than standard computer paper.

If you have any questions, let me know! Looking forward to Sunday!

I can bring some scrapbook paper for people to use. I've got plenty of odd scraps of it laying around! Those pendants look really cool!

I've been living out of a box the last month (still in transition) but I'm going to try and come up with a craft in time! If not, I may just show up to meet everyone and drink some wine and get inspired for my first East coast craft.

Hey Josie & Melissa! Yes, you just bring a project you've been working on. It can be anything, just as long as it's portable. And it's a just a good way to force yourself to make some progress on a project and socialize with the girls. Oh, and there's a free wine tasting!
