Description:

CaroMont Health is proud to present this year’s Community Challenge event. The purpose of our event is to inspire and challenge our community to health.

Proceeds benefit Gaston County Schools.

Regardless of your activity level right now, there is a portion of this event geared to you. Please take advantage of our Couch to 5k programs happening around the community and get ready for a great event on May 17th! This event will tie in community groups and vendors throughout Gaston and the surrounding counties to highlight the great resources we have to stay healthy in our community. Vendors will be coming from all around to show you the goods and services you can take advantage of along your wellness path. There will also be tons of free entertainment and games for the whole family. Come and spend a day getting to know your neighbors while learning about healthy living in all aspects.

Support:
SAG vehicles will be available throughout each course, supporting all ride participants and transporting weary riders back to the starting point.

Rest Stops:
Rest Stops will be provided on each route to rest and refuel. Food and drink will be provided at each rest stop.  Select stops will have bathroom facilities.

Safety:
ANSI or SNELL approved helmets are required for all riders.

Notes:

• Port-A-John's are available at ride start several rest stops on course.

• Bike helmets are mandatory on all rides;  gloves, eye protection and bright clothing are recommended.

We can divide into smaller groups depending on which route length you are riding. Please list which length you intend on riding when you RSVP. The start time for both routes is at 7:30 AM so lets try to group up near the CHECK-IN area around 7:00AM.

Lynda It was me. I felt like you were waiting on me the last 15 mile so I want to thank you. It was still a great ride.

Thank you Maurice and everyone who came out for this charity ride. It was hosted by my employer so I'll be sending them feedback on the poor organization so next year can be a better experience. But nevertheless it was an enjoyable ride. Thank you to Warren for hanging with me at the end. I hit the wall at mile 45.

I would have thought Gaston county cyclist would have been more involved. The course was one of ours.

Yes Maurice, I have done many rides and 5k's using a debit or credit card. Never saw so much confusion as this one. I wish they had let me ride sine I had the drive 45 minutes to get there....

Fun ride with Lynda, Warren, Jeff, Paul and Lynn, although not the most organized charity ride. Hopefully they will take steps on improving areas they were lacking this year, especially rest stops and sag support. They most certainly will get many letters from this year's participants on their event issues.

The sponsor needs to do better planning next time.

Yes, for sure. They also need to train their staff and put up more signs. Very confusing

Nice ride, cold start, fair organization. Either I got lost or there were no blue arrows after the first rest stop. Never found the white Volvo wagon in the start area, but rode with many of you. Next time.

I have tried to Registration for the last 2 days Say closed. Hope they will let me reg Saturday morning.

Online early registration closed some time ago. Unfortunately they didn't handle the online registration well. They should have left it early registration open longer or just increased the price to a post-early registration amount, so people could still register. So at this point, anyone not registered by now, will have to register early tomorrow morning.
