Hi Folks! We're starting a UX Book Club meetup for the Charlotte Area. **
The first book we're going to read is Gamestorming by Dave Gray, Sunni Brown and James Macanufo. Read more about it here: http://www.gogamestor... (http://www.gogamestorm.com/)
If you order from O'Reilly directly, you can use the discount code DSUG which is good for 40% off print books and 50% off ebooks. http://oreilly.com/ca... (http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596804183)
We'll be meeting on Thursday, October 14 at 7:30. One of the book authors, Dave Gray will be Skyping in to talk with us about the book!
Meeting in the immediate Charlotte area. Precise venue to be announced (you'll get an updated event notice when we figure that part out.)
You may want to eat dinner beforehand, but we do plan to have some yummy hors d'oeuvres and stuff to drink.
What's a UX Book Club? Simple: just an informal group that uses books related to user-experience design as an excuse to get together now and then to learn, discuss and socialize.
Do I need to have read the whole book? Nope. We're all very busy people and sometimes don't have time to finish the book. Just come with an interest in the book and its topic, and a willingness to learn new stuff.
Are there other UX Book Clubs? Yes! For more information on UX Book Clubs check out the original wiki site: http://uxbookclub.org... (http://uxbookclub.org/doku.php) Or follow the UX Book Club twitter feed: http://twitter.com/ux... (http://twitter.com/uxbookclub)
**Who is running this particular club? The Charlotte UX Book Club is a side project of Macquarium, a UX consultancy headquartered in Atlanta, with a growing outpost in Charlotte. It's a separate but complementary effort to the UX Meetup in Charlotte.
