Hey Babes & Friends!
In honor of #GivingTuesdayCLT and with a focus specifically on local charities - we will have a little Charity Expo setup at Thirsty Nomad Brewing from 6-9pm on Monday, November 26th.
The intent is to have information about a slew of local charities for both giving and volunteering interests, to provide exposure to the #cltbeer community on a large range of charities in the region.
Nothing is being asked as a donation, or sign up, but there will be information to gather & peruse so you feel comfortable with some new charities!
In addition, we will be doing a canned food drive for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Bring a food item from the list below and receive a small token of #cltbeerbabes appreciation!
- Canned fish or meat
- Peanut Butter
- Canned low-sodium soups, stews, and vegetables
- Canned or Dry beans
- Canned fruits in juices
See you out there on November 26th!
Back in May/June, we did a homebrewing series and had 6 teams of women pair up with mentors to learn how to brew (or just practice more)! NoDa chose winners from a mini competition of those beers.
The second winner was the Mango Habanero Berliner Weisse that Courtney & Christian created! It will be released a's the NoDable on Tuesday November 27.
We will be heading to NoDa in support of those beers starting at about 5:30pm. Tin Kitchen food truck is constantly there for food.
As with all local breweries, only service dogs are allowed inside the brewery taproom, but all dogs are welcome outside on their huge patio area!
Come join us as we toast a homebrew winning recipe made at NoDa!
Hey Babes & Friends!
We are going to celebrate our 7th Anniversary by doing a fundraiser & hanging out at Bold Missy Brewery in NoDa! Event will start with fundraiser classes from 10:30am-12pm in the back of the brewery: two 45-minute classes that are $10 apiece, which will go 100% to our chosen charities: Carolina Breast Friends & Safe Alliance!
1) Self Defense at 10:30am. Please arrive by 10:15am. Taught by CMPD's own, Lieutenant Z! [Ladies Only]
2) Yoga at 11:15am. Please arrive by 11am & bring your own mat! Taught by Charlotte Beer Babe's own, Roberta! [Open to All]
We will then be hanging out at the brewery from 12pm-6pm and we will likely get a brewery tour as well around 3-4pm [time TBD still]. Bring your cash or a check, and drop it in our Fundraising Tip Jars for the charities!
This event is open to everyone all day long, with one exception: the self defense class is ladies-only, for logistics purposes.
All monies raised will be split equally between Carolina Breast Friends & Safe Alliance!
Our December Beer Education will be at Salud Cerveceria, in NoDa above Salud Beer Shop! Parking can be very tight, so I do suggest Uber or Lyft to get there!
We will meet starting at 6pm, get started with the Beer Education about 6:30pm, and hang out until 9pm! We will get a brewery tour about 7:30pm as well! Cost is just for the flight of the beers.
I will have chosen all but one beer in the flight, and everyone gets a Ladies Choice for the last beer selection! We'll talk about the beers, styles, and brewery - and may have a guest speaker too!
As with all the breweries, non-service dogs are only allowed outside on the patio. This event is for the ladies, but since Salud Cerveceria is open, if your guy tags along, that's fine as well.
I look forward to seeing yall on Wednesday, December 6, at 6pm, upstairs at Salud Cerveceria!
We are going to be heading to Free Range Brewing on Thursday, December 20th, from 6-9pm! For those of you unfamiliar with Fre Range, they do a lot of classic farmhouse & saisons!
We will be getting a brewery tour as well, starting around 7:15pm, in order to allow everyone time to get there and grab a beer! We will have this open to your significant others, since they are going to be open for normal business, but we do ask that it just be the Ladies on the Brewery Tour, since that they're doing just for us!
Also, for dogs. Dogs are not allowed (per Federal Regulations) inside the brewery itself (patio is fine). This of course excludes service animals.
Okay, I think that's all of it for now! They are reserving space for us, and you'll be able to find me sitting there enjoying a beer!
