Hello Beer Babes!
On Sunday, May 18, from 11:45am-1:00pm at Salud Beer Shop in Noda, we will be graced with the presence of a local Cicerone to teach us how to properly taste beer!
What is a Cicerone, you ask? A Cicerone is someone 'with proven expertise in selecting, acquiring and serving today’s wide range of beers... Those who achieve this certification have a deep and well-rounded knowledge of beer and beer service as well as competence in assessing beer quality and identity by taste.' (http://cicerone.org/)
We will be taken on a guided tour through language, flavors, colors, appearance, aromas and tastes - to learn the basics of the ins and outs of tasting beer properly!
This class will cost $15 and will cover the cost of the beer we will be sampling. Payment will be on-site. I do ask that as many people RSVP beforehand as possible. If you are on the fence, that is completely fine - I just am trying to get as good a feel for attendance as possible early as I can! :-)
Beers to be selected will be a surprise, however there will be a variety to the selections to enable everyone to find beers they enjoy as well as try new beers out!
Please note - Jason of Salud is allowing us to do this class BEFORE he opens on Sunday (but still after the 12pm legal allowable time for alcohol purchase on a Sunday). Please arrive between 11:45am and 12:00pm, so we can start as promptly (12pm) as possible! The shop will open to the public at 1pm, so we are trying to get as close to finished as possible by then. Thank you in advance for your understanding, and thanks to Jason for allowing us to do this as a private class!
I am really stoked for learning from a Cicerone and hope you are too! I look forward to seeing you all out there!
Prost, Salut, Cheers,
