Charlotte Loves Music! Pages

Charlotte is a great place for live music, but it's a challenge to see what's going on any particular night. Charlotte Loves Music! is your one stop calendar for live local music. If you're a venue, promoter or member of a band, post all of your events for free. If you love music, join now and see what's going on in town.

Charlotte Loves Music has had a fantastic start.

My goal is to allow our area's smaller, local bands equal footing to get the word out about their upcoming events and appearances. When people go to the site they're looking on the calendar for something to do this Friday night. Your event is listed right next to larger acts at bigger venues. People click on your event and hopefully you've given some information about your band, included some nice photos, and even have a link to a video clip or a song. If your band looks good and they like the music, they'll come to your show! It's as simple as that!

Most important, YOU control how you describe your band or venue, YOU decide the video clips or song links, and you can go into as much or little detail as you want. When fans have questions about a show, you can respond immediately. If something changes, you can edit your event immediately without any middle men.

Please take the time to reach out to your friends and fans to really get the word out to the general public about Charlotte Loves Music. I ask each of you to please send an email to your entire list telling people about our group and inviting them to join. Also, please post on your facebook pages and groups about what we're doing. Linked In, twitter, and any of the dozens of other social media formats are worth trying, too.

We have over 150 organizers. If each of you reach out to a thousand music lovers we'll connect with 150,000 people! If we get just a 10% response, that's 15,000 new members! Then, when you post an event, you'll reach a huge audience of committed fans of live music.

It's very important that you make your note a personal one that's relevant to your list. So think about why your friends and fans would like the site and explain how it will benefit them. So if you're a singer/songwriter and you play local restaurants, you might say, "Thanks for being on my email list and supporting my music. I want to share some news about a brand new website that will allow you to learn about all of my upcoming appearances, as well as other local musicians, at the click of a button. It's called and it's free to join. It's an online calendar of local live music events and you'll be able to see photos and video clips and link to songs and websites. It takes just a minute to sign up."

Others of you will make different points based on who you're sending to.

Please focus on the main website and not the facebook page or group. That just confuses people. They want a single place to go, not three options. (Later on we can talk about the facebook pages where we discuss bands and venues in general, not listing event information.)

When you do send out a note, please copy it to me via email or facebook and I'll share the results with the rest of our organizers.

The other important thing you can do is immediately post all your upcoming events, even if they're tentative or somewhat in the future. People will be visiting the site and if they see a lot of cool events, they'll want to join. You can always go back later and edit an event or change a date if needed.

If you are having ANY confusion about how to post an event, just give me a call any time and I'll walk you through it. I assure you it's VERY EASY, but the first time might be a bit intimidating if you don't know what all the terms mean.

Thanks again for all your support for this project. Together we can unite the Charlotte music scene and give our local musicians and venues a big boost!
