THOMAS WYNN and THE BELIEVERS "Southern Rock Muscle ~ Soulful Rock n' Blues"
A combination of blistering rock and southern soul -- with pieces of Dylan, The Band, Tom Petty, and a bit of Jennings, Redding, and CCR seeping through --
Sibling-led Thomas Wynn and The Believers is a 6-piece fiery ensemble playing the original music circuit, touring nationally and making "believers" wherever they go. Gibson-sponsored from Orlando, Florida, TW&TB, even with all the great influences, personifies a new era that truly crosses generations with love, heartbreak, and love again with just really, really, really good music. Beginning with The Wynn Brothers Band (2005-2008) ~ which also included brother Jordan (bass) and Papa Wynn (drums), self-releasing Feel the Good (2006) ~ to its offspring TW&TB, Thomas Wynn and sister Olivia have found a way of crafting a new vein of rock -- gritty, yet pure uplifting Soul Rock -- a mixture of the classics, R&B and gospel, creating a sound that has begun to take on an identity of its own.
Voted BEST OF ORLANDO #1 ROCK BAND 2009-2013
Hailing from a musical family, the duo is heavily influenced by their father, Tom Wynn, the original drummer of Cowboy, one of Capricorn Studio's (Allman Brothers) legendary bands from the 1970s. His influence, as well as their faith and church upbringing, undoubtedly shaped their songwriting and musical interests. Their deeply-rooted principles certainly laid the foundation for what the Wynns bring to The Believers' sound. Thomas’ spirit-moving vocals, passionate lyrics, and emotional delivery are uniquely supported by Olivia's engaging and captivating voice and presence. Her strong vocal harmonies and wide-eyed response is the perfect companion to his yearning banshee cries. They call their perfect blend "blood harmonies"; the press calls her "their secret weapon."
Their debut album The Reason (2009) is a well-crafted studio sampling of Wynn's ability as a unique songwriter, the lyrics and vocals captured well; the band's choice to self-produce their sophomoric album Brothers & Sisters (2012), for some, was a truer representation of the emotion and intensity experienced in their live performances. Currently working on their 3rd album, the anticipation from their beloved fans is both encouraging and challenging . . .
TW&TB has delighted audiences of all sizes, whether in intimate settings or major festivals, and shared the stage with the likes of Gov't Mule, Jim Weider, The Blind Boys of Alabama, The Wallflowers, Drivin' N' Cryin', Charlie Daniels, Donna The Buffalo, JJ Grey & Mofro, Tea Leaf Green, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Dumpstaphunk, The Lee Boys, Leon Russell, Bobby Lee Rodgers, The Revivalists, The Tennessee Three, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Drive-By Truckers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Lucero, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Leftover Salmon, The Legendary JCs, Over The Rhine, The Tommy Talton Band, Colt Ford, Donavon Frankenreiter, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Honey Island Swamp Band . . .
REAX Magazine said, "For once, you have a Florida band that is truly Florida. They look like Florida, they sound like Florida - with a touch of Molly Hatchett, The Band, Neil Young, and The Black Crowes. Not fad hipster, not transplant Florida, but Florida Florida. These guys are on the leading edge of creating a new southern rock scene. The sum of the parts is the strongest live shows in the region. Powerful melodies and hooks, grinding jams with soaring guitars and tight drum work, and a front man that carries the audience to new heights."
“Better every time! Wynn plenty comfortable as demonstrative frontman, accentuating hard-charging hybrid of Southern rock & gospel with magnetic stage presence-makes us Believers! channels old-school Memphis R&B and rock, allowing Wynn to let his gritty tenor be carried away by emotion. really love this band” — Jim Abbott/Soundboard, Orlando Sentinel
It's really true:: If you like Tom Petty, The Band, The Black Crowes, Dylan, or CCR -- a mix of the classics, R&B and gospel -- plus a new vein of rock -- gritty, yet pure uplifting Soul Rock -- you'll love TW&TB!
