We will meet in UVA's Darden School of Business, classroom 140 , 6-8 pm on Monday, August 4, 2014. Featured speaker is Nick Skriloff: Load Testing Your Application. This session begins with a horror story of when a system could not handle the load. With so many visitors looking at your WordPress site, speed is critical to success. This session will show you how to load test your website, measure speed, and do it on a consistent basis.

We will have time for people to ask specific questions about their own sites or ask the group for feedback on a site as well. Internet access will be available, so bring your laptop!

This is the first meeting of the Charlottesville WordPress Meetup! Help set the direction of the group going forward and suggest topics for future meetings.

Whispering Woods Web Design will be providing pizza. Bring your own drinks.

Directions. From the airport, stay straight on Airport Road until you reach the traffic light at the intersection of Airport Road and Route 29. Turn right on Route 29 and proceed south for approximately 9 miles to the City of Charlottesville (Route 29 will become Emmett Street). Turn right onto Arlington Boulevard (at the intersection, you will see a Wells Fargo). At the end of Arlington Boulevard, turn left onto Massie Road. Darden Boulevard is the second right. Stop at the Gatehouse, the first building on the right, for parking pass and registration. More information, including maps, can be found on the Darden website:
