Map to parking lot at trailhead
Meet at the Spears Street parking lot, which is at the far north end of Spears, past the residential area. The street is a dead end, and the parking lot is off to the right.
The group will head up the short connector trail from the Spears parking lot to join up with the 'blue loop' that goes around the park. This will consist of Hill City, Gig City, and the Double J trails. We'll then detour off the blue loop trails to walk a portion of the Cherokee trail so that we can take advantage of the one-of-a-kind view of the Scenic City from the overlook platform. Most of the trail is on rolling dirt single-track type trails, but a portion of the hike is also on paved double-track, and there will be some short, moderately steep sections.
