Back by popular demand, I'm pleased to announce our first (and last) trip to Wine Country for 2013! Join us for guaranteed good times and new friends with a bus load of winos!! We've got everything covered for a ridiculously fun day of VIP private wine tastings with some of the friendliest peeps in town, including an on-board raffle for some winolicious prizes as soon as we start rolling. Please read all event details and especially note the early bird deadline of May 1st.
THE PLAN: We'll be visiting two fab wineries, both with spectacular views and of course some VIP treatment for the winos and winettes on board! Our first stop will be Monte de Oro Winery for a truly unique PRIVATE tasting of 6-9 wines in the Subterranean Barrel Room, which has a glass ceiling that looks into the upstairs main tasting room. Winos will also receive a 15% discount on any wine purchases made that day! Outside food is not allowed but the restaurant menu items can be purchased on site and range from $5-$16. If you prefer to pack your own lunch, save it for our second stop, Frangipani Winery, where we will be treated to another PRIVATE tasting of at least 6 more wines held smack in the middle of the grape vines and bocce ball court. Winos will receive 10% discounts on all bottle purchases, and souvenir logo glasses can be purchased for $3 each.
ROLLING RAFFLE:Once we get on the road, we'll get the good times started with a quick raffle. Each person will receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win one of several winolicious prizes, including several pairs of tickets to Belly Up Tavern concerts (The Ultimate Stones, Pato Banton and Tainted Love), bottles of wine, and limited edition 20 oz. etched Winos R Us wine glasses, to name a few. It's our way of saying 'thank you' for spending the day with us!
OUR RIDE: Deluxe motorcoach that seats up to 56 winos and winettes, has a bathroom (YAY, no pit stops!), sound system and reclining seats (these will come in handy for some of you on the ride home!). There's plenty of storage space underneath the bus as well as overhead compartments for your personal items. Drinking IS allowed on the bus so please come prepared with your bubbles, mimosas, vino, coffee, etc. We will supply plastic cups, a few corkscrews, and a large cooler with ice and bottled waters.
PAYMENT: The event fee covers the 6-hour round-trip transportation, taxes and driver gratuity, private VIP tasting fees, set up and gratuity at both wineries, raffle prizes and supplies. Seats are on a first-come, first-served basis and PAYMENT MUST BE MADE TO SECURE YOUR SPOT ON THE BUS!!! The $55 fee will be increased to $65 at 10pm on Wednesday, May 1st. Please refer to the refund policy posted at the top of the page.
PICK-UP/DROP OFF LOCATIONS: There are 2 pick-up/drop-off locations with free parking. Please note the pick up time and aim to arrive EARLY. We are on a schedule with the wineries and the on-time winos will not be happy with the stragglers! After you RSVP, you will be asked to provide your pick-up/drop-off location...please provide a response so we know exactly how many to expect at each location. In case of emergency only, a contact number will be sent out a few days prior.
1) Old Town Transit Center - pick up at 12:30pm. Address: 4009 Taylor Street, San Diego 92110 (entrance on Pacific Hwy). We'll meet on the sidewalk under the freeway. Return at 6:30pm.
2) Edwards Cinema, Mira Mesa - pick up at 12:50pm. Address: 10733 Westview Parkway, San Diego, CA 92126. Return at ~6:10pm.
