Easter Day Sailing

A 50% price saving applied by

This event is available to the first 8 members to signup. If we have more than 7 members wanting to participate then should anyone of the first 7 members drop out we'll invite the next member from the list to participate.

The event:

Join the boat at Bradwell Marina and meetup with Peter, who'll be your skipper on this day. You'll need a £1 coin for the car park at the marina. Why not car share with the other members on this meetup and get to know your fellow crew during the car journey?

Meet outside the watchtower in the marina, (you can't miss it) and Peter will come and find you and take you down to the boat.

After a safety briefing and and an introduction to the boat and its equipment, you'll cast off and sail out of the marina into the Blackwater estuary. The tides on this day will allow you to sail up the river, right up to the quay at Maldon, alternatively you could decide that you'd prefer to sail across the Brightlinsea and perhaps to navigate all the way up to Wivenhoe and have a lunchtime stop with a beer ashore.

What to bring:

Trainers, warm clothing suitable for being outdoors all day and a change of clothing just in case we get a rainy day. A sun hat and suncream, sailings just like skiing, it's surprising that you can get quite sunburned on what otherwise seems to be an overcast day. Bring your own packed lunch.

The boat we'll be sailing on has all the necessary safety equipment such as lifejackets e.t.c. and you'll be shown how to use them before you set sail.

Just 8 places available to Chelmsford Sailing Club meetup members. It'll be a shared cost event and to keep the costs down we'll need to fill the boat with 8 members. The cost will be £60 per member.

The weather forecast for Easter looks very poor. So this trip will not go ahead. Snow is for skiing, not sailing.
