Hawk Mountain delivered the birds. We had good looks at multiple Golden Eagles and Northern Goshawks, lots of Red-tailed Hawk, several Red-shouldered Hawks, a few Sharp-shinned Hawks, a Merlin and an Osprey. Also, Common Loon, Evening Grosbeak, American Goldfinch, Pine Siskin and Eastern Bluebird.

The Hawk Mountain website says that this weekend should be "ideal for migration". NW winds and temps in the 50s. Stuff to bring: Binoculars, fluids of choice, lunch/snacks, a pad or light stool/chair to sit on (the rocks are cold), wear sturdy shoes for the hike to the hawkwatch. $8 per person for Hawk Mountain trail admission fee, cash/credit cards for the gift shop :-). The plan is to be at the Hawk Mountain Visitor's center by 8:30. Call/write for carpool/caravan staging location in Baltimore.

Hawk Mountain is up and running after Sandy. Sandy stalled migration for a lot of birds and could have blown others off their regular migration route so an interesting flight is possible. The Hawk Mountain website says "We hope the super storm brings a super flight for the weekend" Hugh
