A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

I have a personally-outfitted PFD

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

experienced in tandem canoe in class three. recently started open kayaking. very similar strokes. definitely same reads on the water.

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

Just gave up my old fiberglass whitewater vessel. No place to store; no vehicle suitable to carry it. Will be renting for the immediate future.

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

All of the above. I love the feel of the water and the rhythm of the paddling, as well as the great and beautiful places it takes you. (The challenge of reading and managing moving water, too, but that is apparently not relevant to this group.)

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

The chance to paddle. Meeting people with the same inclination is a great plus.

I love the water any way I can get on it. Sailboat, Kayak, or Canoe.
