A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

Yes.

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

Longest trip was a week in the Everglades. One of my college trips. Took 15 novices and brought them all back in one piece...not an alligator scratch on any of them :). Still have the maps and looking to repeat the trip one day.

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

17' Perception Eclipse.

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

Get back in shape for one. I also like exploring areas you can't get to any other way.

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

Friends with the same interest to maybe plan some more adventerous trips with down the road. For now just to get back out on the water.

Introduction

Lead hiking, kayak, and rock climbing trips back in college. Getting back to the kayaking and starting to reaquire gear and skills.

What Bryan W. is saying about this Meetup Group

Kimmie and Ken did a great job with the group. Can't beat a day when it stops raining when you put in and waits for you to load your boat before it starts up again.
