A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

Yes.

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

I have recreational experience from the last 15 years and recently taken whitewater lessons. Hopefully I'll have a roll by the end of the summer. I've been in true sea kayaks, recreational, sit-on tops (heavy!), and most recently, a huge ducky we nicknamed The Barge, that I wouldn't get in again.

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

I will have to rent for now unless some kind hearted person is loaning them out, but I'm finally considering buying.

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

I kayak for all of the above. It's fun, it's unplugged, you can get a great arm and core workout, it takes you places you wouldn't see otherwise, and here is my oddball reason, I like the sounds - lapping water, the paddle hitting the water, birds, wind...

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

I'm looking to meet new people and improve my kayaking. I would like to learn to roll and be confident enough to take friends out on trips. I would like to try kayaing camping and possibly take a week or longer point to point kayaking vacation.

Introduction

I am a weekend warrior and enjoy a lot of activities except evenings in front of the tv. I've been a recreational kayaker for years and I'm hoping to find a fun group to paddle with and become a better boater.
