  • 👻🎃 Ghost Stories by Author Charles Adams 🎃👻

    William Brinton 1704 House

“Too scary for children!” I’ve heard people say about this guy! He is a wonderful storyteller with haunted tales about the Chester County area. He is the popular author of “Ghost Stories of Chester County” (which I’m guessing will be available for his signing that night). The venue is an allegedly haunted 300 year old house. A fun Halloween event. This will sell out so please get your advance $10 ticket when you RSVP. There are two dates so if you want to be with this meetup activity, make sure you register for the 10/25 event. (Link below) I have mine and there are no seating assignments. https://mailchi.mp/b8b3e25636e0/chester-county-ghost-stories-with-charles-j-adams-435403

  • 🍂🎃Volunteer at the Great Pumpkin Carve at Chadds Ford🎃🍂

    Chadds Ford Historical Society

https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/30e0f4cadaf28a0f[masked] This is a really big and fun yearly 3 day event that highlights over 70 sponsored giant pumpkins carved in the most creative ways! Carvers work Thursday during activities and then illuminate their finished products Friday and Saturday. There is a pumpkin patch, haunted trail, hayrides and live music. Food, treats and local beer and wine is sold. My own kids have aged out so it’s fun to go as a helper. Link to volunteer sign up site is below. All kinds of help is needed over the 3 day or night event. I’m signed up to be in costume one night and I think selling t shirts on another. The sign up sheet shows everything. 🎃🍂🍺 https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/30e0f4cadaf28a0f[masked]

    Location visible to members

This is the last polo match of the season! Relax and enjoy the beauty of Chester County while watching polo with friends. The match is from 3pm-5, but gates open at 1:30, so I put 2pm as our meet time. Tickets can be purchased when you arrive at the gate for $15. Landhope Farms at located at 101 East Street Rd, Kennett Square, PA 19348 sells discounted tickets for $10. You can also order them online. If the weather is questionable, please check here and I’ll keep everyone updated. These are lawn seats, so we'll have to stake our claim along the grass on the sidelines. Make sure to bring a chair and any food or drink you wish! Small folding tables or picnic blankets are handy. It is alcohol friendly. There are no dress codes but I’ve worn summery dresses at times and felt comfortable. Men wear anything from oxford shirts and shorts to jackets with jeans or khakis.
