The Spring Concert of Immaculata University Concert Band and West Chester Band will be at 3 PM on 4-27-14. It will be held at Alumnae Hall on the Immaculata University Campus on King Road, Malvern.

Directions from Rt 30: South on Route 352, turn right on King Road (first traffic light), go about 1 mile and Immaculata Univ. will be on the right. Take the third entrance to the University (before the playing fields).  Alumnae Hall is the building closest to the road. The concert is free!

Following the Bookclub Meeting Betsy will be performing at a concert at Immaculatta College .  All are welcome to join.

I recently saw the author interviewed.  She takes 10 years for each book she writes and has won many awards.  A very interesting woman.

This well-written first novel attempts to be several things: a psychological suspense thriller, a satire of collegiate mores and popular culture, and a philosophical bildungsroman. Supposedly brilliant students at a posh Vermont school (Bennington in thin disguise) are involved in two murders, one supposedly accidental and one deliberate. The book's many allusions, both literary and classical (the students are all classics majors studying with a professor described as both a genius and a deity) fail to provide the deeper resonance of such works as Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose . Ultimately, it works best as a psychological thriller. Expect prepublication hype to generate interest in this book and buy accordingly. Previewed in Prepub Alert, LJ 5/1/92.

Great writing but weird story line. A bit too long.

I am re-reading this book. I read it so long ago I can't remember why I liked it but I did. Also, the author has a new book out that is getting a lot of press. Look forward to the discussion and will hopefully be able to attend the concert as well.

I had read it sometime back and thought it was written beautifully. I am also re-reading. The new book is what made me think of it. It takes her 10 years to write each book she said when she was on Charlie Rose.

Just found $20 in INBOX (PROMOTIONS) almost missed @cnntech: Hey Amazon customers: Come get your e-book credit

The enhanced GMAIL separates the Email into categories. Since this email was from Amazon it assumed it was a promotion and how I almost missed.

If you have ordered EBOOKS from Amazon you may be entitled to $$$

At the March meetup, I mentioned a website which when installed on your web browser prevents the selling of your personal information to Data Mining / Marketing Companies. I have it installed and LOVE it. I can see who is looking and what websites are selling my personal information. It was profiled on CBS This Morning and 60 minutes.
