What we're about

CAPG was founded in 2010. The main goal is to provide opportunities for adult amateur pianists who are looking for experience performing classical piano in public. With the support of PianoForte, we are able to sustain this amazing group.

We have the chance to experience various high quality pianos (such as a 9' Yamaha CFX or Fazioli 7' grand piano) located at PianoForte's performance space, 1335 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago.

To be a member and to perform, you must be able to play comfortably at the level of Chopin Waltz or Bach Invention, i.e., intermediate/advanced. If you would like to play at our meetups, we request that you contact the organizer (click on the Organizer link on our home page) and let her know which meetup you will be attending and what you would like to play. Following that meetup, we can accept you as a full member and you will receive all of our announcements. Members not intending to play and non-members who just want to enjoy the concert can attend our meetups at any time.

We can accommodate only 12-15 performers per meetup, at about 8 minutes per person; therefore, each spot is valuable. If you have RSVP'd to play, and are not able to come, please advise the organizers ASAP so they can add someone else to the program. Last minute cancellations will put you at a lower priority in the following meetups. We would like to have members who are eager to play, and who take this recital opportunity seriously.

Looking forward to meeting you!
