When did "vanilla" become such a bad thing? Often associated with words like boring, mundane, dull, etc., it has acquired quite a bad rap. It's even defined on Wikipedia as "Having no special or extra features; ordinary." Well what do they know! As bakers, we know that one of the best flavors out there is vanilla. Sweet and subtle, aromatic and distinct - vanilla lends itself to so many combinations of flavors and can enhance many delicious baked goods.
Here at Chicago Bakers Anonymous, we LOVE vanilla. So work your magic and show those naysayers who's boss. Rock on, vanilla!
