Oct 27 Meeting

Sorry I've been out. I moved into a new-construction apartment complex on Sept. 25 and the building did not get Internet access until this week. Since I'm currently unemployed I've been effectively cut off from the Internet for awhile.

I hope to have the next meeting on Oct. 27. I'm waiting for a callback from New Horizons to confirm our reservation for that night before officially announcing the meeting.

Oct. 27 could present a problem for some of our members. The Chicago ACM meeting (http://www.chicagoacm...) is also scheduled for that night but in an earlier time slot (4-5:30) and not in downtown. I'm thinking we should schedule a little later than our last meeting, perhaps 7p, so members can attend both meetings if they choose.

I intentionally scheduled our gatherings on the fourth Tuesday of the month to avoid conflicts with the ACM and Java groups. ACM suddenly changed their meeting schedule after their summer break but this may be temporary. If this is their new regular schedule we may have to pick another meeting night in the future.

I highly recommend attending an ACM meeting. They have a national organization to draw speakers from and resources we can't match.
