What we're about
The purpose of this group is to share the benefits of meditation and Dharma with all who are interested.
Our practice aims to cultivate compassion and wisdom - that is, kindness and awareness - for the benefit of all sentient beings. The approach and method we promote are those of Chinese Chan ("Chan" is the Chinese word for "Zen"). We also bring in teachings from other Buddhist traditions to create a rich, open learning environment.
Our current weekly program is on every Wednesday evening - with meditation + group sharing, Dharma learning, and socializing. This weekly gathering is a chance for us all to recharge and settle our mind in the middle of a work / school week, finding a moment of refuge, quietude, and clarity.
We also look for opportunities to hold other events beyond the weekly Wednesday gatherings.
There is no cost to attend. Donations of any amount are welcome at the door - donations help us with continual operations of this group, such as paying for the Meetup subscription, holding special events in the future, and so on. But donations are completely optional.
