Title: Challenges of Realtime Monitoring of Kubernetes and Microservices at Scale across Hybrid Cloud Environments

Speaker: Bryan Jasper, Solution Architect at SignalFx

Abstract: Architectures for modern software applications and services are evolving. The shift from monolithic to microservices comprised of containers, orchestration management platforms, and serverless computing changes the requirements of a monitoring solution. How do you monitor your applications as containers are increasingly short-lived, service capacity is added on-demand, or a new job is started in ever-changing infrastructure?

Bio: For the last 29 years Bryan has not applied his Physics degree at all. Instead, he found joy in a wide range of software development fields, such as machine vision, content management, and enterprise Java application architecture. Recently, he has been focusing on Application Performance Management at companies such as Dell Software, Dynatrace, and CA Technologies. Bryan is now at SignalFx, where he helps customers transition from monolithic architectures to containers and microservices.

Talk #2

To be announced soon!

The general topic we'd like to cover at our event is "Advanced app monitoring and debugging techniques for GKE"
So if you're an expert in one of the following, please let us know how we can collaborate:
* Distributed tracing: using Stackdriver feature, tools like Jaeger or integrating into the existing service mesh like Linkerd
* High-volume logging with Google DataFlow or Apache Kafka
* Custom logs on GKE with fluentd
* Local app debugging with Telepresence
* Remote debugging with cri-tools

We're open to any experiments, so if you want to share your experience and become a speaker or sponsor/co-organize the meetup, feel free to fill in the following form https://goo.gl/forms/cPUPbJHvLuFNVAkr2 or contact me directly.
