Good writing groups have literally changed my life, so I've created a new group downtown (after driving to the suburbs for years) in hopes it will change yours for the better too. If you're seeking honest and truly helpful critiques (not a pat on the head for simply putting words to paper), a weekly deadline, lots of laughs, accountability and support from like-minded people who speak Wordsmith, you've found the right group. I've completed two novels using this formula and I'm finishing up a third while dabbling in a fourth. This system works. Only truly committed writers need apply. A sample of your work will ensure we're all around the same skill level, but please don't let that scare you off. I have plenty of room for improvement in my own work, and I was once the newbie at the table with no clue how to write a novel. It wasn't that long ago. Most were very patient with me. Some weren't at all. Today I'm grateful for both. You just have to start where you are. Post up to 3000 words by Friday for critiquing on Sunday. Print and critique the other chapters posted and bring the critiqued hard copies with you to give back to each writer. Don't forget to include page numbers, line numbers, the title and your name. Thanks!
