Mobile Gamification

Gamification is the use of game design techniques and mechanics to enhance non-games; in order to make technology more fun, encouraging users to engage in desired behaviors and by showing a path to mastery and autonomy.  Jeff Allen, one of the original creators of XBox Live , and J Schwan, President of Solstice Consulting, will lead a discussion on how gamification techniques can help increase adoption, usage and stickiness of your mobile applications.

Here's a sneak peek from one of J's recent blogs.

See you there!

Well done. Allen covered behavioral while Schwan covered revenue. Great tag-team.

This was my first meeting with this group. A friend recommended it and she hit the nail on the head with her description - informative, interactive, and interesting. Without a technical background, I easily followed along and met some pretty solid people. That's how it should be. Thanks, again! I'll be back... (not in the Arnold Schwarzenegger voice)

Was just ok, felt like he spent more time talking about his past work than the topic at hand. There were some good nuggets of insight - just took a lot of blah blah blah to get to.

The topic of gamification is smarmy. The speakers at this event seemed ill informed.
