I've got an idea for a new podcast and I'm looking for your involvement!
The premise is this: we get together at my place (Diversey/Western) around 6pm, and go see a movie. Then we come back to my place and stream our post-movie discussion while enjoying a homemade meal, maybe 30 or 40 minutes at the most.
There are three theaters easily accessible from my apartment: the Landmark Cinema at Diversey & Clark, the Logan Theater at the Logan Square blue line station, and the Regal 14 which is a stone's throw away. We'll choose something good to see (indie/arty films yes, lowest common denominator CGI fests no), and plan out a dinner that we can make afterward. (I have a stove, a toaster oven, and even a rice maker, but no microwave.) If weather's bad or movie choices are lame, we could downshift to something good on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon, or maybe visit an older film from my collection.
I'm looking for at least six people to be involved per show: three panelists to discuss the film, and three people to run cameras. I'll be running OBS and we'll stream on my YouTube channel which has almost 18k subscribers. I've got two cameras (Sony HXR-NX100 and FS5) and I'm hoping someone else can bring another camera with an HDMI or SDI capture device. I also have wireless lav mics and a bunch of box lights and camera-mounted LED lights, so hopefully we can make this thing look polished and smooth.
I'm flexible on which night we do this; I'm available on Thursdays and Fridays and every other weekend. I'm also flexible on how often we do this - I'm thinking once a month, maybe more frequently if we're having a good time.
I also plan to rotate who's on the panel. So if you're talking one episode, you might be running a camera the next, or vice versa.
So, if you like to watch movies, and talk about movies, and cook, and maybe run a camera, shoot me a message. I've set up a first meeting for Thursday December 6th.
