What is FinOps?
FinOps is the operating model for the cloud. FinOps enables a shift — a combination of systems, best practices and culture — to increase an organization’s ability to understand cloud costs and make tradeoffs. In the same way that DevOps revolutionized development by breaking down silos and increasing agility, FinOps increases the business value of cloud by bringing together technology, business and finance professionals with a new set of processes.
Grounded in real world stories, expertise and inspiration for and by FinOps practitioners, the FinOps Foundation is focused on codifying and promoting cloud financial management best practices and standards to help the community members and their teams become better at cloud financial management.
The FinOps Foundation Chicago Chapter member meet-up is a group of cloud users with interest in FinOps and cloud financial management across the Chicagoland area. Our goal is to build a community of members to share knowledge, experiences and best practices that enable organizations to effectively manage and optimize cloud costs.
