Run away and join the circus for a day! This is one of the most spectacular volunteer projects on One Brick's calendar. Come join One Brick as volunteers help put on the greatest show on earth for kids at CircEsteem. CircEsteem is a cool afterschool program where students are tutored on academics as well as circus performance skills. The kids will be the performers on this Saturday’s circus show and the adults are the audience. Volunteers will help make the Circus run smoothly with a variety of tasks: helping to set up the event, selling tickets and concessions, helping patrons find seats, and cleaning up after the event. Volunteers will get to see the show for free too! Volunteer spots are very limited. All volunteers must be 21 years or older.

Event location: 4730 N. Sheridan, Chicago, IL 60640

Event time: 10 am to 2 pm.

In keeping with One Brick tradition, after the event, volunteers will be going out to a restaurant near by to eat and drink and get to know each other. This is optional but a very fun way to meet great people with similar interest in supporting our community and learn about other amazing volunteer opportunities. It will be a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon, improving the lives of young children and meeting new friends.

One Brick Chicago chapter is 100% volunteer operated, with very little overhead and no pay staff. We don't even have a physical office. One Brick is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (Federal ID: 77-0593889) that brings volunteers together to support other local non-profits by adopting an innovative twist to the volunteer experience: we create a friendly and social atmosphere around volunteering, and after each volunteer event -- which typically lasts only 3 to 4 hours -- we invite volunteers to gather at a local restaurant or café where they can get to know one another in a relaxed social setting. CircEsteem unites youth from diverse racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds and helps them build self-esteem and mutual respect through the practice of circus arts. Our approach to promoting confidence and cooperation is action based: focused development of circus skills while having fun together. We accomplish this by providing a positive environment that emphasizes goals, teamwork, and performance. Our mission of uniting youth and empowering them through circus arts is fulfilled in every class and is highlighted in every circus we perform. For more information:
