What we're about

This is a group at 5691 N Ridge, Edgewater neigborhood, that's going to include and embrace explorers who are caregivers. That means: partners, spouses, friends, DIYers, of others who forget stuff. Who are those others? Parents. Friends. Kids. In fact, we take care of anyone who has some on-going struggles with their memory - from a diagnosable condition, or a medical treatment, or a slip and fall... to someone whose life is so busy that it zaps their memory power. Let's get together for twice-monthly popcorn jams (we provide) on practical ways to solve for these issues, get tips, tricks, or even just support, and try out new products for free. We look to you to bring and to discuss anything that looks (a) fun; (b) beautiful; and (c) is either HIGH TECH or LOW (read: hugely helpful) or LOW TECH (read: free), but solves for it. Finally. MemoryBeach sponsors the entire event. Run by a psychologist, but not therapy. Retail available, no pressure to buy. Free discussion for support. You are NOT alone. And, we have heat. Group runs Feb, March, April, and May, twice monthly drop ins welcome.

A MemoryBeach group is a space where you can relax. We get it. When you're helping someone else's memory with nudges, reminders, hints, encouragements, you can feel productive and amazing. You can also need a rest. Someone to help you out. Just to listen to maybe one more good idea from someone else's experience. Eat some popcorn. Our call in-drive-by MemoryBeach office is in Edgewater (parking in the back or on the street). Red-Line accessible (Bryn Mawr) - our space is set up like a LifeGuard shack. Come in and relax by our fake electric fire for real conversation. Safe. Funny. We're exploring. Respecting. I am Nancy P., a psychologist, but this is not therapy. Instead, we are always trying to find innovative products to help you help others with their challenges, or help yourself with their challenges. Or maybe, you'll need nothing other than company who gets you. No gadget, gizmo, advice required for that. We respect ALL our cells. We plan on opening up MemoryBeach every two weeks until June. We'll open up the phone lines, too, in case you want to drop in. Bring a guitar. We'll listen. Bring a story to tell. Bring your silence. Or just show up. Or just know we're here, and you can show up or not depending on what's powering your mood. It's your moment. Live it fully.
