What we’re about
The Nomad Ski club is a Chicago-area not for profit skiing, snowboarding, and social club, established in 1961. The club is composed of over 200 members dedicated to offering the most economical and hassle free ski/snowboard trips for our members during the winter and we offer a year-round schedule of activities to keep us active. Annual favorites include a camping/biking trip, concerts, dancing, and music in the park picnics. Each year we organize an extensive bicycling schedule that our members look forward to. Our annual banquet, picnic and CMSC golf outing are always big hits. We have volunteers that organize a “bar of the month” and other fun events. If you are looking to get off the couch and meet people who have a jest for life, then come join us.
Now if you ride the snow we are the group for you! We have skiers and snowboarders at all levels: racers, mogul monsters, cruisers, terrain park masters, and raw beginners. We offer racing through Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council (CMSC) as well as organized Nastar racing on many of our ski trips. Three of our members medaled in the 2012 Nastar Nationals held in Winter Park Colorado in March 2012. Racing is a great way to improve upon your skiing/snowboarding and a lot of fun. We scheduled week-end bus trips to local Midwest resorts such as Shanty-Creek, Indianhead, and Boyne. These trips feature a deluxe travel coach with bathroom- so you leave the driving to the professionals; sit back and enjoy the ride. All our organized trips are hassle free and a great value to our members- the power of group rates. Our club has been in existence for over 50 years and we are a proud member of the Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council (CMSC). We are a very friendly group and we are always looking for new members throughout the Chicago area. Come check us out and learn about this season's trips. Don’t live in the Southern suburbs? No worries- meet us at the airport for one of our fabulous Western resort trips or meet-up with us in Michigan when we do our wine bicycling tours, or any other event.
We invite families and anyone over 21 years old to join our membership.
