In case there are math/running fans within the group, here's a very different option -- exercise your mathematical mind!
Illinois Science Council is expanding it's Pi Day efforts to include a fun run/walk. It's a Pi K, a 3.14 mile course instead of the typical 3.12 mile 5K. It will take place, of course, on the internationally recognized holiday for Pi Day, March 14 (or 3.14). The run/walk, which includes a t-shirt, will be followed by a Pi Party featuring pie (of course), pizza, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and math challenges with prizes!
This event will be neither irrational nor infinite. Advance registration is absolutely required at http://PiDayRun.eventbrite.com and will be limited to the first 314 people. Registration is $18 and includes t-shirt and post run party.
Because 3/14 also happens to be Albert Einstein's birthday, there is a special discount for anyone registering named Albert or Alberta.
For all details, visit the registration site at PiDayRun.eventbrite.com.
