What we're about

This group is to build and connect Chicago (and surrounding area) residents to the ever-growing and robust storytelling and live-lit community and its shows.

The main purpose of this group is to have a place where one can log in and see the different shows and open mics happening ALL OVER CHICAGO.

We want to encourage people to step outside of their neighborhood bubbles and go and explore storytelling in communities and at events all over the city.

Not all storytelling shows take place in bars and cafes. You have fundraising shows, shows at theaters, shows at art galleries and shows in people's backyards and houses.

Storytelling belongs to everyone and we want to encourage everyone to go out and experience it however and whenever they can.

We welcome anyone who:
is interested in attending a show.
produces a show.
wants to perform or read at a show.

We want to connect people, have fun, and grow a supportive community.

If you have questions about a show, want a show featured on the calendar, please do not hesitate to ask.

Lily Be is not the host of all these shows, she is just the person who started the group. We do our best to copy and paste show information from website and event pages to reflect who is hosting which shows.

We encourage members who want to meet up at shows to start group discussions about doing so. If any of us plan on attending we will message those that RSVP to make sure we introduce ourselves at the event.

Thanks.
