Blooming Horizons host support groups for the community of adult survivors of child sexual abuse. It is open to anyone who would like to have a safe place to share their story, gain skills, tools, and reading materials on how to overcome the pain of their childhood wounds. Statistically, most child sexual abuse is perpetrated by someone the child knows. This means that the likelihood of parental abuse is significant. Children victims are told to keep secrets further enabling the abuse to continue, sometimes for years. The majority of survivors do not disclose their stories until well into their adulthood. Sadly, most of these adult victims are met with disbelief and rejection from family leaving them with no emotional support during the first steps in the healing process. The process of full emotional recovery speeds up dramatically when survivors have support around them to catch them if they fall. All Group members receive unconditional love, compasion, and support from one another within a safe space.
