Join us monthly in south loop for call and response melodic chanting in Sanskrit (kirtan) followed by silent meditation.
kirtan means “to praise that which is exalted”—aka, the divine within us and all around us. The word “kirtan” stems from a Sanskrit root that means “to cut through,” he says, so kirtan is also “a practice for cutting through the idea of separation, for connecting to our hearts and connecting to the moment through sound.”
Kirtan is a meditative practice of chanting mantras in call and response together.
All are welcome. No experience necessary. Chant sheets will be provided. If you'd like to lead a chant, bring a drum or other instrument, or help with set-up don't hesitate to reach out to me!
