Hello everybody,

To all of those who want to experience the Arabic culture in a friendly, charming and exotic environment. Our colleague Michael Jamal Riegelman the director of NYC Arabic Language Club is organizing a trip to Morocco, a life time experience with a vivid lover of Morocco who lived there for sometimes. Please see all the details below and feel free to contact Michael for more details.

Best regards,
Hicham Zerhouni

New York City Arabic Language Club Moroccan Adventure!

YES ? that's right! We're going to Morocco! Come and explore al'Maghrib with the

NYC Arabic Language & Culture Club this Fall!

We'll be visiting for 10 days, Oct 23st ? Nov 1st, 2007. Explore the Fez medina, one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Spend a day camel trekking into the Saharan dessert and witness an incredible sunset, sleeping with the Berbers under the stars. Discover Todra Gorge and the stunning views from every turn. Learn how to cook an authentic Moroccan dinner with Lahcen, a chef who's been featured in the NY Times and BBC ? and much more.

And, for those who are up for an active adventure, a trip extension is available that will allow you to hike to the top of Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest mountain at nearly 14,000 feet, with a renowned Berber mountain guide.

We're going with Journey Beyond Travel, an Adventure Travel Company founded by former Morocco Peace Corps Volunteer and member of the NYC Arabic Club, Thomas 'Mounir' Hollowell. Tom and I served together in the United States Peace Corps, working as Environmental Educators. Tom's lived and worked in Morocco nearly six years, traveling extensively throughout the country. He's worked with the Amid-East, the American School in Rabat, and with Morocco's premier University in Ifrane, Al Akhawayn. His partner Fazia has over 10 years experience living in Morocco. She has a degree in Moroccan Studies and French and has taught with the American Language Center and Amid-East in Rabat, the capital city.

And, of course, I'll be there with you too. Together we'll be exploring Morocco's diverse language, people, and culture. Although no knowledge of Arabic is required, if you're studying the language, or interested in starting, this is a great opportunity to do so. Or, if you just like tagine and mint tea, and want to come experience al'Maghrib ? Marhabba! This tour is going to be, quite simply, AMAZING.

Tom and Fazia have been running tours in Morocco for over two years. The feedback that they've received from past clients is a testament to their professional and unique focus. You can view pictures from past tours, read through the full trip itinerary, see their personal bios, and even download and start learning Moroccan Arabic (Darija) through their website at Journey Beyond Travel.

We foresee this trip to fill up fast, most likely by then end of May 2007. If you are interested, contact us quickly. This will be a small group and intimate adventure with a limit of 10 travelers from the NYC Arabic Language & Culture Club. There is no minimum for the tour to run ? it is guaranteed to go.

If you're looking for something different, cultural, fun, exciting, and intimate ? Yellah!

The trip is $1579 per person. It includes all accommodations in hand-picked, high quality 3-star riads and hotels. Each room has its own facilities. It also includes all breakfasts, all transport, NYC Arabic Language & Culture Club Tour Leader, a Journey Beyond Travel Tour Leader, Moroccan guides along the way (including Fez), a Moroccan cooking class, a Berber Band Bash in the Ziz Valley Oasis, a camel trek in the Sahara, and more.

Although airfare isn't included, I have connections with a few NYC travel agencies and, if we book our airfare together, I may be able to get us a discount. You need to book your reservation with us by July 15, 2007. There is a $279 non-refundable booking fee.

You can contact Tom or Fazia directly by email at [address removed], or by leaving a voice mail at (765) 387-4404. Of course, you know you can always reach me at [address removed] or on, under the username 'Flybiker' (Michael Kim 'Jamal' Riegelman), or by calling my new Moroccan Cell number at[masked] 62.
