NOTE DATE CHANGE: We are excited to announce another round of GIS Lightning Talks. Join us on March 6th at a the DePaul Center (1 E. Jackson Blvd, 5th Floor Room 5800) for mappy goodness and the sharing of ideas and work.
Ian Dees will start off with a 15-minute presentation on OpenStreetMap (http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=5/51.495/-0.088) followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.
Following Ian, we'll have two CGN members presenting lightning talks on the following:
• Quick overview of some GIS tools created for CMAP (the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning) using the PyQt library, followed by a description of the library and how you can use it to make nifty interactive tools
• Open Source Web Application for Clean Energy Planning
• Mapping Historic City Directory locations in 1840s St. Louis
This is shaping up to be a another great set of talks, and we look forward to seeing you all on the 20th!
We schedule a series of presentations with the following format: 5 minutes for each talk, immediately followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. After presentations we will meet for Geo-Networking at a nearby bar!
