Cache River State Natural Area and buttonwood swamp is unique place with 1000 years old Cyprus trees. You will not believe it is south Illinois!
Main event will be 5 miles swamp kayaking.
I think to use guide from local rental company. If we have min 10 people, 2-3 hours trip will be 30 dollars per person.
Or we can do ourselves, based on reviews, a trail is very well marked.

Looking for more, there is a lot do around there: hiking, camping, or biking Tunnel Hill 48 miles trail.

Camping is available at Giant City Park or at Main Brother campground.

Addition information on hiking trails:

Cypress Creek Wildlife Refuge offers two additional options: Limekiln Springs, a moderately difficult 2.5 mile trail featuring limestone outcrops, floodplain forest, multiple springs and two boardwalks for viewing the swamp; and Hickory Bottoms, a one-mile trail through a mature lowlands forest.

Other recommended trails include:

Todd Fink-Heron Pond Trail (1.5 miles).

Big Cypress Access (250 feet)

Tupelo Trail (2.5 miles).

Wildcat Bluff (1 mile).

Little Black Slough Trail (5.5 miles).
