The Shambhala Meditation Center of Chicago offers a free Tuesday Night Sitting Group at the Northside Meditation Group Location (formerly in Edgewater, now in Rogers Park). There is also a free Sat. morning meditation. Free meditation instruction for Tues. and Sat is available to people coming for the first time. If you would like to take advantage of the meditation instruction, please come a bit before or at the start of the meditation sitting, if possible.

Join us on Tuesdays 7-9 PM. We are on the 2nd floor of the Rogers Park Presbyterian Church, 7059 N. Greenview. Come in through the North entrance (if the door is not open, ring bell), walk up to the second floor, turn left and walk about 10 feet. The open house includes sitting and walking meditation from 7-8, a short reading and discussion (perhaps 40 mins) & social time/refreshments at our Rogers Park location. Let your mind simmer down.

There is also another open house on Saturdays (also free), from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. This is meditation only: there is no reading and discussion.
Come for all or for part. You can leave whenever you want...you don't have to stay the whole 2 hours.

The Tuesday group reads a chapter in a book or reads an article followed by a non-judgmental and vibrant discussion of meditation topics. Cushions and chairs are supplied; you do not need to bring anything. All are welcome.

Take some stress out of your life! And it really is easier to meditate in a group.

There are light refreshments Tues & Sat & a good group of people to talk with. People who are also working with mindfulmness and meditation.

Near the Morse Red Line stop, and the #147 Outer Drive Express, #155 Devon, and #22 Clark buses all stop within a few blocks.

Despite what was previously shown on this page, we can no longer parking in the alley north and east of the church. If you park there you may be towed.

There is street parking on nearby streets. If parking is tight, there is paybox parking about 2 blocks south on Morse Ave.
