This Tuesday there is going to be a lecture, open to the public and free, from the Brinson Foundation titled, The Monster at the Heart of the Milky Way by Andrea Ghez. Details can be found here http://astro.uchicago...­

Ghez did a TED talk a few years back when the closest star orbiting the SMBH was on a 15 year orbit but they since discovered a star with an 11 year orbit so it will be interesting to hear about the latest developments and what they are working on for the future. Seating is limited and first come first served. I'm planning on being there by 5.
