Amersham and the River Misbourne - Short Hike

  • Walk length 7 miles/11km approx. Circular.

    This short country walk explorers some of the woods and fields to the south of Amersham including the South Bucks Way and parts of the River Misbourne. 

    Amersham has one of the best-preserved high streets of any Chiltern town. Most of its buildings date from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries, while some date back to the fifteenth century.

    Lunch & Finish

    Please brin
    g a snack lunch and water for the walk. Our walks usually finish at about 4.30pm and include a 30 min lunch stop, however the time may be earlier or later than this depending on the weather and pace (we have a relaxed pace which includes sightseeing and photography).

    Walk Cost: £4 (meetup/organizer fee).

    Meeting

    Meet from 11.15am outside Amersham railway station for the walk to start at 11.35am (after the train from London).

    Train: The 10.57am train from London Marylebone gets to Amersham for 11.32am. See: Chiltern Railways

    I would encourage you to seek out other members who are driving from London, or who can go as part of a group save on the train.

    Car: The car park at Amersham Station should be free on a Sunday, please allow time to park (check parking restrictions).

    Walking Safety: Walking is a great way to keep fit and generally very safe; however it does contain an element of risk. Before going on any of these walks you need to be reasonably fit and be prepared to be responsible for your own safety.
