What we're about

Welcome to the Chiltern Young Walkers

We enjoy being outdoors and walking in the fresh air and stunning scenery of the Chiltern Hills in southern England.

Explore the beautiful Chilterns countryside

We love finding new places and sharing the places we know with others. We do this by walking in the Chiltern Hills (http://www.chilterns2030s.org.uk/walks.php) of South Buckinghamshire and West Hertfordshire every weekend all year round and some weekday evenings in the summer. A few times a year we get away for the weekend to discover scenic coastline, rugged mountains and everything in-between.

Make new friends

We are over 150 people from their 20s to early 40s who enjoy walking and socialising. Most of our walks end at the pub, a great way to get to know fellow members. You will see familiar faces and often meet new people each time you come. Along with our walks we have an active socials programme with regular pub nights and other social events (http://www.chilterns2030s.org.uk/socials.php).

Get some exercise

We believe you can improve your health and have fun walking with us. With leisurely walks from 5 miles to more strenuous 15+ mile hikes, we have something to suit everyone.

Try us for free

We will welcome you on any walk; just choose one suitable for you. RSVP to one of our walks on Meetup and just turn up. We were formed in 2000, not profit making and run by a group or volunteers who are active in the group. We are part of and funded by the Ramblers (http://www.ramblers.org.uk), Britain's walking charity who are working to create a Britain where everyone has the freedom to enjoy the outdoors on foot. You are free to enjoy three different events before you decide to join us (http://www.chilterns2030s.org.uk/Join.php) as a member.

We look forward to meeting you on a walk (http://www.chilterns2030s.org.uk/walks.php) soon.

Chiltern Young Walkers Social at Woburn Abbey

This is the second of our combined Woburn walks and socials! Following a glorious walk through the Woburn Abbey Deer Park (a different route than the first walk on the 4th May), the Chiltern Young Walkers will be heading into Woburn Abbey and its beautiful gardens, although there is the option to skip the house and stick to the gardens if you prefer. If you just want to come to the social and meet some of our lovely CYW members, that's fine too! Those taking part in the walk in the morning will be enjoying a packed lunch at the meeting point, before assembling at 2pm for the social to set off into the house and gardens shortly afterwards. Therefore if you are coming for the social only, please make sure you arrive at the car park by 2pm. The car park is free and well signposted. Tickets for both Garden + Abbey, or Garden only, can be bought via this link: https://www.woburnabbey.co.uk/plan-your-visit/ticket-types/ Note, if you are planning on joining the CYW at their Woburn Safari Park Social on the 4th May too, it is definitely worthwhile getting the 'Woburn Passport' option on the above site. There is also the option of staying on for an evening meal in Woburn Village after the visit to the Abbey, for those who are interested.
