What we're about

Welcome to the Chiltern Young Walkers

We're a friendly and sociable walking group run by volunteers. We're aimed at people in their 20s and 30s who enjoy a large variety of walks and social events every weekend across Buckinghamshire, West Hertfordshire and West Middlesex, often within 30 minutes from Aylesbury, Hemel Hempstead or High Wycombe. If you’re thinking about getting out into the countryside to explore the fantastic scenery on your doorstep, further afield or looking to expand your social scene, join us!

COVID-19 Update: We are very pleased to announce we are able to restart group walks! Walks will have a limit on the number of attendees which will be set by the walk leader to ensure social distancing can be maintained. We will take a register of attendees using the Rambles App, so dust off your membership card if you have one, get ready to renew your membership if you let it lapse during lockdown and if you're not a member you may try up to three walks free. Our group walks are categorised as organised outdoor sport. These are exempt from "rule of six" restrictions as we have put measures in place to reduce the risks of COVID-19. Before joining a walk, please read Ramblers Restart: Taking part in COVID-safe walks https://www.ramblers.org.uk/-/media/Files/V... Explore the beautiful Chilterns countryside

We love finding new places and sharing the places we know with others. We do this by walking in the Chiltern Hills (http://www.chilterns2030s.org.uk/walks.php) of South Buckinghamshire and West Hertfordshire every weekend all year round and some weekday evenings in the summer. A few times a year we get away for the weekend to discover scenic coastline, rugged mountains and everything in-between.

Make new friends

Our members are in their 20s to early 40s who enjoy walking and socialising. Most of our walks end at the pub, a great way to get to know fellow members. You will see familiar faces and often meet new people each time you come. Along with our walks, we have an active socials programme with regular pub nights and other social events (http://www.chilterns2030s.org.uk/socials.php).

Get some exercise

We believe you can improve your health and have fun walking with us. With leisurely walks from 5 miles to more strenuous 15+ mile hikes, we have something to suit everyone.

Try us for free

We will welcome you on any walk; just choose one suitable for you. RSVP to one of our walks on Meetup and just turn up. We were formed in 2000, not profit-making and run by a group or volunteers who are active in the group. We are part of and funded by the Ramblers (http://www.ramblers.org.uk), Britain's walking charity who are working to create a Britain where everyone has the freedom to enjoy the outdoors on foot. You are free to enjoy three different events before you decide to join us (http://www.chilterns2030s.org.uk/Join.php) as a member. We look forward to meeting you on a walk (http://www.chilterns2030s.org.uk/walks.php) soon.
