What we're about

A regular drinks meetup around Chorlton run by friendly, sociable people .

Not just drinks! Drinking is something we all do whether a teetotal or complete lush. The group is really about getting out and being sociable and meeting new people rather than sitting at home.

We just tend to meet in pubs because they make such comfortable meeting places for groups. Some of us like a beer and some of us prefer non-alcoholic drinks.

• A different pub every week

• Make new friends

• Visit new restaurants

• Welcoming to all ages

• Anyone is welcome to become an organiser and post one or more events of any type as long as they abide by one rule - they are welcoming to new members.

• Example event types: Drinks, BBQs, Coffee & Cakes, Walks, Museums, Bands, Dog Walks, Cycle Rides

1. Always fancied visiting a particular restaurant or trying a new cuisine? Perhaps others have too! Make it happen! Request to become an organiser even if its just that one event.

2. Love cycling? Suggest a ride somewhere and see if others are interested.

3. Want to organise an event which is likely aimed at under 30s but won't exclude older. Thats ok - just mention the focus in your event.

4. Go to a music festival as a group? Share transport.

RNCM at The Whitworth Gallery - Septentrion Duo (Free Concert)

I have seen a couple of these concerts in the magnificent gallery 3 of the Whitworth Gallery and they are very special indeed. This event limited to six individuals, not to be missed. Meet in the cafe around 14.00, concert starts at 15.00 for approx 45 minutes. Sunday 30 June Septentrion Duo - Join harpists Alice Roberts and Kathryn Mason, both under the tutelage of the highly acclaimed Eira Lynn Jones, for a relaxed afternoon of music. The Septentrion Duo are well-established and have performed widely over the course of their time at the RNCM. They are known for their broad range of repertoire including arrangements written by Alice Roberts herself, as well as exciting contemporary music for two harp. The Gina Miller Concerts are a series of free classical concerts organised by The Friends of the Whitworth in conjunction with the Royal Northern College of Music at The Whitworth gallery. They take place at 3pm on Sunday afternoons, approximately fortnightly during RNCM terms and last about 45 minutes. All are very welcome.
