• What we'll do
Our Death Cafe is a group-directed conversation about death and dying over food and drinks (you buy your own).
We talk about all sorts of things; assisted dying, natural burial, AHCPs, aging parents, DIY funerals, death doulas, books we've read, death in different cultures, suicide, near death experiences (NDEs), philosophy and the meaning of life, and our own personal experiences to name a few.
We don't promote any particular conclusion, belief system or course of action. Death Café is not grief support; there's no agenda, objectives or themes. We get together to talk with the aim of increasing death awareness so we can make the most of our time here.
• What to bring
An open mind, curiousity, and a willingness to join in the conversation.
• I love this quote by Eckhart Tolle:
A culture that denies death inevitably becomes shallow and superficial, concerned only with the external form of things. When death is denied, life loses its depth.
