Evelyn and I are looking at taking our two girls on one last camping trip at beautiful Lake Tahoe and thought we could share the adventure with others! The plan will be to stay at beautiful D.L. Bliss State Park campground that is situated right on the Western shores of Lake Tahoe. This campground has a gorgeous sandy beach, bike trails, hiking trails and is centrally located to many of the great tourist destinations in the Tahoe Basin!
The Plan: Depending on schedules, I may go up as early as Wednesday so for anyone that wants to get a head start on the adventure feel free to join me. Evelyn and our girls will plan on leaving Friday as soon as possible and staying until Sunday late afternoon / evening.
Cost: RSVP fee is $25 per person and will cover the cost of the campsite(s) plus two Breakfasts and one Dinner.
Meals: We will be providing Breakfast (Egg/Sausage Skillet) and Dinner (Hamburgers/Hotdogs) on Saturday and Breakfast (Pancakes) Sunday morning. Hot water for Coffee, Tea and Hot-chocolate will be provided as well. Saturday evening at campfire we will provide Hot-Chocolate and Smores and I will make my signature Air Force Fighter Pilot Jalapeno Popcorn!
Tents/RVs: I will be bringing my camper for the four of us, which means we will have four additional spots (8 people max per site) for tent campers. If you have an RV you want to bring, that will require another campsite space and you should plan on sharing it with other tent campers if necessary. D.L. Bliss does not have RV hookups so plan accordingly.
Accommodations: D.L. Bliss has shared running water faucets spread throughout the campsite as well as full bathrooms and showers (bring your quarters!).
Activities: We will be bringing bikes as there are a lot of great biking trails that will be great for our girls to ride on. There is also a great sandy beach to hang out at and lots of rocks to boulder / climb and explore around. There will be no planned group activities however everyone is welcome to organize something when we get there that is appropriate for the people we have.
How to Find Us: I will likely be going up early and I will update the group on what campsite(s) I have reserved by posting back here.
Note 1: This will be an off season trip so Reservations are not available at the campgrounds meaning it will be a first come first serve basis. I will be calling the campground to ensure we have good odds of getting a site/s for the weekend and if necessary go up a day or two early to ensure we have spots. If for any reason sites are unavailable we will refund your full deposit.
Note 2: This will be cross posted on the Christian Family Adventure Club Meetup group page as well.
Refunds offered if:
Payments you make go to the organizer, not to Meetup. You must make refund requests to the organizer.
