Ritual: Calls to the Princes of the elements/directions

Soon we'll be developing a new standard ritual for the Church of Azazel proto-congregation. The ritual will probably be similar to the standard ritual on my Theistic Satanism site.

Below is the beginning of a draft of calls to the Princes of the elements/directions, Whom we regard as aspects of Satan/Azazel. (For more information, see Infernal names, directional correspondences, etc. on my Theistic Satanism website. See also the Theology of the Church of Azazel and the Church of Azazel FAQ.) In my ritual draft below, blank lines indicate places where I think more is needed, but I haven't yet decided what to put there. Suggestions appreciated.

The ritual below begins and ends in the West. For some rituals, the calls might begin and end with other directions, depending on which element is most relevant to the purpose of a given ritual.

Hail, Leviathan!
Ancient Serpent,
________________________[add another line here]
Prince of the power of the Waters!
Hail, Legions of the West!
Hail, Leviathan!

Hail, Iblis!
God of our deepest passions,
God of our innermost Will,
Prince of the power of Fire!
Hail, Legions of the South!
Hail, Iblis!

Hail, Lucifer-Azazel!
________________________[add another line here]
Bringer of knowledge and clarity!
Prince of the power of the Air!
Hail, Legions of the East!
Hail, Lucifer-Azazel

Hail, Belial!
God of this world,
God of our flesh,
Prince of the power of Earth!
Hail, Legions of the North!
Hail, Belial!

Hail, Leviathan!
Ancient Serpent,
________________________[add another line here]
Prince of the power of the Waters!
Hail, Legions of the West!
Hail, Leviathan!

Hail, Dark One!
________________________[add another line here]

________________________[add another line here]
Hail, Legions of the Pit!
Hail, Dark One!

One possible line for the section on the "Dark One" might be "Quintessence of the Infernal Mystery." That's a deliberate pun on the word "quintessence." I kind of like it, but at the same time I'm concerned that my pun may be a bit jarring and counterproductive to creating a meditative mood, simply because it is a pun. How do others here feel about that line?

Any better ideas?

Hail, Leviathan!
Ancient Serpent,
________________________[add another line here]
Prince of the power of the Waters!
Hail, Legions of the West!
Hail, Leviathan!

Borrowing a line that Sarah suggested earlier, for another ritual where I didn't think it quite fit, but perhaps it does fit here:

Hail, Leviathan!
Ancient Serpent, Who opens our eyes,
And rends the veils between the worlds!
Prince of the power of the Waters!
Hail, Legions of the West!
Hail, Leviathan!

P.S.: On second thought, perhaps the line about rending the veils between the worlds is more appropriate when addressing the "Dark One." Another possibility for Leviathan is:

Hail, Leviathan!
Ancient Serpent!
God of the depths within our minds!
Prince of the power of the Waters!
Hail, Legions of the West!
Hail, Leviathan!

This would help keep the symmetry of "God of ..." when addressing the other Princes.

For the sake of this same symmetry, the call to Lucifer-Azazel should now read:

Hail, Lucifer-Azazel!
Bringer of knowledge and clarity!
God of ______________________________!
Prince of the power of the Air!
Hail, Legions of the East!
Hail, Lucifer-Azazel

(I still need to complete the third line.)

For the Dark One, perhaps the following:

Hail, Dark One!
Infernal mystery,
Hidden one, who opens our eyes,
And rends the veil between the worlds!
Hail, Legions of the Pit!
Hail, Dark One!

Any other suggestions?

Earlier, I suggested the following:

Hail, Leviathan!
Ancient Serpent, who opens our eyes,
and rends the veils between the worlds!
Prince of the power of the Waters!
Hail, Legions of the West!
Hail, Leviathan!

and then decided against it on grounds of a lack of symmetry. However, the symmetry problem could be solved by using something like the following, toward the East:

Hail, Lucifer-Azazel!
Knowledge-bringer, who sheds light
on all that is hidden and forbidden!
Prince of the power of the Air!
Hail, Legions of the East!
Hail, Lucifer-Azazel

This would give us two-way symmetry, though not four-way symmetry.

And, of course, it leaves us with the question of what to say to "the Dark One."

Here's what popped into my head just now for "the Dark One." I'm not completely satisfied with it, but it's probably good enough for now, unless someone comes up with something better.

Hail, Dark One!
Infernal Mystery! Hidden Muse! Black Flame!
King of the depths,
Ruler of this world!
Hail, Legions of the Pit!
Hail, Dark One!

So, for a ritual which will be emphasizing the element of Earth, in which case the calls would start and end in the North, the complete set of calls would be:

Hail, Belial!
God of this world,
God of our flesh,
Prince of the power of Earth!
Hail, Legions of the North!
Hail, Belial!

Hail, Leviathan!
Ancient Serpent, who opens our eyes,
and rends the veils between the worlds!
Prince of the power of the Waters!
Hail, Legions of the West!
Hail, Leviathan!

Hail, Iblis!
God of our innermost Will!
God of our deepest passions,
Prince of the power of Fire!
Hail, Legions of the South!
Hail, Iblis!

Hail, Lucifer-Azazel!
Knowledge-bringer, who sheds light
on all that is hidden and forbidden!
Prince of the power of the Air!
Hail, Legions of the East!
Hail, Lucifer-Azazel

Hail, Belial!
God of this world,
God of our flesh,
Prince of the power of Earth!
Hail, Legions of the North!
Hail, Belial!

Hail, Dark One!
Infernal Mystery! Hidden Muse! Black Flame!
King of the depths,
Ruler of this world!
Hail, Legions of the Pit!
Hail, Dark One!

Hail, Satan! Hail, Azazel!

Comments, anyone?

If, later, we decide to go with an earlier idea:

An obvious third line for Lucifer-Azazel would be "God of Freedom!"

Combining ideas from the above two posts, plus also using "Ancient Serpent" as a proper name in place of "Leviathan," rather than just a supplementary title:

Hail, Belial!
God of this world,
God of our flesh,
Prince of the power of Earth!
Hail, Legions of the North!
Hail, Belial!

Hail, Ancient Serpent!
God of the depths, who opens our eyes,
and rends the veils between the worlds!
Prince of the power of the Waters!
Hail, Legions of the West!
Hail, Ancient Serpent!

Hail, Iblis!
God of our innermost Will!
God of our deepest passions,
Prince of the power of Fire!
Hail, Legions of the South!
Hail, Iblis!

Hail, Lucifer-Azazel!
God of freedom, who sheds light
on all that is hidden and forbidden!
Prince of the power of the Air!
Hail, Legions of the East!
Hail, Lucifer-Azazel

Hail, Belial!
God of this world,
God of our flesh,
Prince of the power of Earth!
Hail, Legions of the North!
Hail, Belial!

Hail, Dark One!
Infernal Mystery! Hidden Muse! Black Flame!
King of the depths,
Ruler of this world!
Hail, Legions of the Pit!
Hail, Dark One!

Hail, Satan! Hail, Azazel!

Note: "Ancient Serpent" is used in the Bible, specifically in the Book of Revelation/Apocalypse. It is unambiguously a name of the Devil, whereas "Leviathan" is more ambiguous -- although "Leviathan" has indeed been used as a name of the Devil according to Wikipedia's page on "Leviathan." The previous version of the ritual used both "Leviathan" and "Ancient Serpent," but, in the version above, I ran out of room for both.

A possible modification to the call to "the Dark One," adding "mighty liberator" and rearranging it a bit:

Hail, Dark One!
Infernal Mystery, hidden Muse,
King of the depths!
Black Flame! Mighty liberator!
Ruler of this world!
Hail, Legions of the Pit!
Hail, Dark One!

Hail, Satan! Hail, Azazel!

An advantage of this version is that it contains references to all four elements, as well as a hidden quintessence.

I do like the version. I believe it is well researched and appropriate for its purpose.
