The Church of St. Francis, located 12 School Street, in Villa Park, IL. We offer a traditional Tridentine Mass, (in English) as a choral Eucharist where everyone is encouraged to participate. The Liberal Catholic Church (LCC) is independent of the Roman Catholic Church and has a parallel history with the Theosophical Society, which has a chapel at its International Headquarters' in Adyar, Chennai, India. In sympathy with the three objects of the Theosophical Society, we promote cultural, racial, gender, religious tolerance, interfaith dialog. We encourage our members complete freedom of thought, and their individual right to follow their own path of spirituality.
Distinctive in the Liberal Catholic Doctrine is Reincarnation, once human, always human, in conjunction with the Law of Karma. LCC Priests are not supported by the church, and like Priests of the Russian or Greek Orthodox Churches, can marry.
There is fellowship after each Sunday's mass and a Theosophical Study Group, The Besant Hall Study Group, which meets the 3rd Sunday of the month, where Theosophy, New Age Concepts, Philosophy, Esoteric Christianity, and more are discussed. We welcome all to visit us once, then twice, to see if there is a fit for you.
