Friends, our next topic will involve a conversation on spiritual dehydration. In my own exploration I regularly encounter torrid phases--droughts--that I often allow to impact my identify and value. "Have I done something wrong?" I ask. "Am I not praying enough?" These are the questions that begin flooding my mind as I struggle for re-hydration.
In the Bible, Jesus encounters a woman at a well who begins to draw water. He tells her:
“Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:15-15, NKJV).
The statements seem simple enough, but if I'm honest I have to admit that I find myself thirsting regularly. Regardless of your religion or denomination, can you identify with my experience, or have you found your personal, unending fountain? Let's talk about it.
Grace, truth and love,
