Eriondal. Peace reigns supreme, but at what cost?
Two centuries ago, the ground beneath the cities of men and the allied races opened, with whole cities falling into the molten lava below. The great mountain citadels of the dwarves and their brotherhood split in twain, burying them inside their shattered homes. These are some of the destructions brought forth by the Humans versus dwarves in their world shaking war.
When all seemed lost and foretold Death Knell was close at hand, a great horn blew. A sound unlike any ever heard before. The Fey of old had arrived. Elves appeared; long thought to be rumors and figments of imagination. They bore witness of the destruction brought by the infant races. Then they wept for Eriondal. As one, the Elven armies knelt and began to sing prayers to their gods. Their eyes and hands glowed with blinding magic. When the Elven song finished and the light faded, all eyes opened to behold what remained of their world. The magic the Elves channeled had healed Eriondal, or at least ended the Death Knell. Great crevices closed up. Mountains ceased to fall. Lava cooled to cold, black stone. Humans and dwarves looked with awe as they realized the evil they had unleashed upon Eriondal. How in their mad war of destruction, they had come so close to losing all.
A council was held amongst the leaders of all factions. The Elven sovereigns declared there shall be “No more war!” Elves would be taking up the responsibility for peace on Eriondal and the other races would have to accept their kind rule. If they did not, then the retribution by the Elves would be swift… and permanent.
Two hundred years have passed. All settlements have at least a small contingent of Elves set up in the role of Peacekeepers. The Elves have encouraged the various hostile races to live together in harmony, but much of the old hatred remains. People are wary to engage in open hostilities for fear of Elven punishment in the mysterious Dreaming.
The Elves support any group that actively makes the land a safer place to live in, for there are dangers that still lurk in pockets of the world. They encourage brave adventurers to return with proof of their deeds, for which they are paid handsomely. They never ask for any of the spoils of these quests, but reward well for evidence of horrible monsters slain and ancient dooms overcome.
Are you up to the challenge of the Elves?
This will be a Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition game. Players will begin at level 1 and new levels awarded according to milestones. Regular players will have first choice in signing up for game sessions, and new players are always welcome if there is room. New players will begin play at the current party level. All standard 5th edition races and classes are acceptable and homebrew options can be requested from the DM. Any player wanting to play an Elven character must discuss this option with the DM prior to developing their character. Elves in Eriondal are the ruling race and as such have additional responsibilities and privileges. Minotaur, Orc, and Centaurs are also common PC races.
