The Matariki Development Festival returns with new writing by Maori and Pasifika playwrights. It is bigger and better than ever this year with a two week run, including a Development Season and rehearsed readings of brand new plays. Some events are free and some have a minimal ticket cost, and we'll schedule events for all of them!
The third and final event we'll attend is an afternoon of rehearsed readings: first The Monologue Season at 1pm and then Ships, a new play by Moana Ete, at 2pm. It will be a great afternoon of new work and a great chance to support new New Zealand playwriting in its early stages. This event is free to attend and will be hosted by Ilona.
