Raised Bed Building and Repair Workshop

Come learn to build new beds or repair old beds!

Raised beds enable you to improve the soil quality in your garden by building up the soil level, and making it easier to do deep cultivation. Raised beds can be built in any shape or size, but typically are rectangular in shape, 8 to 12 feet long, and 4 to 6 feet wide. This size range promotes efficient use of space in the vegetable garden, while the beds are narrow enough to be worked from both sides. A grouping of shorter raised beds with space in between them makes it easier to move around in the garden – a factor to consider if children or elderly are gardening.

Please bring cordless tools and a lunch or snack.

No building skills are required, you will learn all the skills needed to build your own Raised Beds!
